It was a welcome return to Exeter for the South West regional conference of Chartered Institution of Highways & Transportation (CIHT) sponsored by Jacobs. The topic for the annual CPD event; ‘Driving a Sustainable and Smart Future’ was followed by a black-tie dinner hosted in The Great Hall.
President of CIHT Matthew Lugg OBE, and SW Chair Steve Keen welcomed guests to a VIP drinks reception hosted in the University’s ‘Visitor’s Reception’ before joining 160 construction professionals for the awards ceremony in the Great Hall. Guests enjoyed a three-course dinner and mesmerising close-up magic from local magician, Dan Brazier and entertainment from Casino Select.
A charity raffle in aid of Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance Trust, with prizes kindly donated by local businesses and Glen King PR helped to raise £1250 for this worthy cause. The monies will go towards the cost of £3.5million needed every year to keep Dorset and Somerset’s Air Ambulance flying.
