The contracting team at C G Fry & Son has started working on the first dedicated Breast Unit for Salisbury District Hospital. The build involves a new extension to the main building, with alterations to the front footpath and overlay of the existing Obs and Gynaecology building roof. In addition there will also be a new access staircase to the roof.

The new unit will provide the best possible facilities for patients with dedicated diagnostic, treatment and counselling rooms enabling quicker care and treatment. Diagnosis and follow-ups will all be delivered in one place with less need for patients to visit other departments within the hospital. The project is being funded thanks to supporters of The Stars Appeal – Salisbury Districy Hospital’s Charity, following the charities successful 750,000 ‘Breast Cancer Unit’ campaign which was launched in September 2014.

Fry’s contracting department is lead by a highly skilled management team focused on achieving high client satisfaction by complying with rigorous standards in terms of Quality, Health & Safety and Cost Management.

Mike Pinney, Contracting Director – C G Fry & Son said: “The Stars Appeal has worked very hard to get this high profile project funded and we are very excited about starting on site at Salisbury District Hospital. The first Breast Unit will make a huge difference to the breast cancer care the hospital already provides for patients across the region.”

Simon Dennis, Strategic Procurement Manager for the Trust, said: “We are delighted to be working with CG Fry on their first project at Salisbury. Following a rigorous EU procurement process, Fry’s were able to demonstrate both quality and value which has enabled us to support our colleagues at the Stars Appeal in achieving the very best use of the hard-raised funding for this project. This will be an iconic facility for the Trust, and more importantly the wider community, in helping us deliver our vision of an outstanding experience for every patient.”

Good morning 😊
We set out in thick mist, the air was fresh but not cold. A new route took us to Leaf Land. The perfect spot to stop and reflect beside the River Exe. Connect with nature, buds, bird song & blossom. Noticing nature
