25th June 2022The Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation (CIHT) (SW) held their annual black-tie awards dinner at Sandy Park, Exeter, sponsored by Atkins. 150 guests enjoyed a three-course dinner and mesmerising entertainment from local magician Dan Brazier and caricaturist Luke Warm.
CIHT celebrates the very best the region offers across the key areas of highways and transportation. They are open to everyone: members and non-members; small and large organisations; public, private and third sector. The Awards recognise the outstanding contribution that good projects and people make to our daily lives.
The glittering awards ceremony held in Exeter celebrated innovative and pioneering transportation projects with presentations by CIHT (SW) Chair David Watkins and CIHT (UK) President Deborah Sims with support from Andrew Hugill, (CIHT Director of Policy & Technical Affairs).
A charity raffle with prizes generously donated by local and regional businesses and an auction for an official Exeter Chiefs Match Shirt 2019/20, commemorating 25 years of Southwest Communications as the main sponsor, signed by members of the Exeter Chiefs Squad, plus a Bristol Bears (Rugby Union) signed ball by the squad, helped to raise over £2,000 for PROPS.
The Bristol-based charity supports adults with learning disability to achieve their full potential and Centre Manager. Nick Trivett gave a presentation on how this money will make a real difference to their plans to build an empty Bristol storefront into a fully accessible café/shop and brewery this year for learning disabled adults.
