20th November 2017Plymouth-based Ercle has obtained planning permission for a development in picturesque Bovey Tracey for bunnyhomes. A design led architectural practice based in Millfields Trust, Ercle specialises in housing, including house extensions, one-off houses, conversions of existing buildings, and the development of housing estates.
Established in 2013, bunnyhomes is a rental homes business with well over 100 properties. They actively seek properties in need of redevelopment, which they renovate to a high-standard, both externally and internally. Their enviable portfolio ranges from small family homes to large, low-density apartment blocks, creating high-spec living to private tenants across the South West. The innovative company is now expanding into building new-build homes from the ground-up for sale, with the first being Buttercup Meadows in Bovey Tracey.
The development is the first new-build for bunnyhomes, being built by its developer company bunnybuild, headed up by development director Chris Kent. The site located adjacent to a prime residential area, in Bovey Tracey, was previously occupied by a derelict building owned by Devon County Council, which has been empty since March 2015.
Ercle has obtained planning permission via Teignbridge District Council and the former dilapidated building has now been demolished. The site will have ten new homes incorporating two and three-bedroom bungalows and four semi-detached homes.
Eric Davis – Director Ercle said: “We are delighted to be working with bunnyhomes and very excited to be involved at the beginning of their exciting new venture. The site was an ideal place for a residential development, and Teignbridge District Council were happy to agree this as a full private development with no affordable housing, in line with national policy for 10 dwellings.”
Rachel Butchers – Marketing Director bunnyhomes comments: “Location will have a huge effect on popularity of this development, which is in the heart of Bovey Tracey and on the doorstep of Dartmoor national park. In my experience homes which are so close to the town and the moor will sell quickly, because they offer immediate access to the bustle of Bovey Tracey but are a just a moment from the beautiful Dartmoor.”
