PAIGNTON ZOO CHARITY GOLF DAY
26th July 2017
Lady Taverners are hosting a Christmas Lunch!
9th August 2017
3rd August 2017

Family-owned independent retailer Queenstreet Carpets & Furnishings has invested substantial funds in the refurbishment of its showroom at its Alphington store as part of their 50th year celebrations. Phase 1 of a planned three-phase programme of works, has seen an investment of 30k on updating and modernising the furniture section in the expansive 12k sq. ft.showroom of this long-established retail business. Phase 2 will update the bed section and the third phase will incorporate the exterior of the shop.

The company was established in 1967, by husband and wife, Malcom and Nikki Dixie – the pioneering duo were one of the first in Exeter to launch the selling of fitted carpets, bringing a new trend to the city. The business has grown since that time to include furniture, beds and accessories, and as well as shopping in-store, customers can also now purchase on-line across the UK. Today Queenstreet Carpets & Furnishings continues to be family-run by Nikki, her two sons, Mark and Gary Dixie and daughter-in-law Heather. In addition, two years’ ago, they expanded further with the opening of a second shop ‘CASA’, located on The Strand, Topsham.

Gary Dixie – Director Queenstreet Carpets & Furnishings said: “After a half-century of trading in Exeter, it’s an exciting new era for the company. We’re making a substantial investment to upgrade our Alphington store to give our loyal and valued customers, as well as new ones, the best shopping experience in the local area. We are delighted with the remodelling of the furniture section of the shop, which has given a contemporary design, with ambient lighting and more space for our customers to easily navigate our new range of dining furniture and sofas. It also showcases our high-quality upholstery section in an environment where shoppers can relax, and take time to browse, with the knowledge that our expert team of professionals are on hand to help when needed.”

As part of the 50 years celebrations, the company has launched a Golden Ticket free prize draw for the chance to win a 50 voucher every week throughout the summer months, and an overall winner for a 500 voucher towards the cost of a new sofa, chair or bed will be drawn at the end of September.
