South West based digital growth agency Bigwave media with offices in Exeter, Torquay and Plymouth, announces a decade of success for its hugely popular Business Games. The Bigwave Business Games are a highly anticipated event in the local business calendar, boasting five-time Olympian, Jo Pavey, as their ambassador, and expanding for the first time this year with the launch of the Torbay games.

The Games kickstarted with the first event in the series, ten pin bowling. Twenty-eight businesses battled it out to strike lucky with five playing their joker, a wild card option which allows them to double their points on an event of their choosing.

The games will continue into June, with events like Clip n Climb and Mini Olympics, and will finish with Bell Boat racing on the quay – the highlight event, which brings employees from across Exeter together to witness their colleagues making a splash.

Rebecca Cooper, Senior Account Manager at Bigwave media and organiser of the Bigwave Business Games, said:“Year on year, the Business Games bring new and exciting opportunities for local businesses. Now in their tenth year, the Bigwave Business Games are a cornerstone in the local business community. She adds:“The games provide an unparalleled opportunity for local businesses to network and boost their profile across the region. The energy and passion that participants bring every year is overwhelming.”

Since their inception, the Bigwave Business Games have raised more than 32,000 for local charitable causes. Exeter’s nominated charity is The Exeter Foundation, set up by Exeter Chiefs to raise money for important local causes.

Rebecca continued:“The Exeter Foundation is a fantastic organisation which truly works to make a difference to the local community. Over the years, the Exeter Foundation has worked on a number of programmes to improve the lives of people across Exeter and the surrounding areas.” She adds: “Their values align closely with our own and the Business Games is proud to support them in their mission.”

An awards ceremony conducted after the event will celebrate the success of the games and see trophies awarded for the winner, the best newcomer, the most improved and fair play.
