25th April 2017NPS South West appoints new Operations Director
11th May 2017Ken White Signs, a high-quality sign making company, is celebrating its 50-year in business by giving back to the local community! As part of the golden milestone, the well-known, Devon-based family-run company is offering an array of FREE bespoke marketing material, to support many local charities, independent retailers and schools.
Ken White and his late wife Jean, started Ken White Signs (KWS) in 1967 in their home town of Tiverton. Their first contract was for Tiverton Golf Club, and golf has continued to be Ken’s passion. A keen artist, Ken is revered as one of the most skilled, traditional sign writers in the South of England, and although now retired, can still be seen hand-painting local signs.
A real family affair, Ken’s three sons all joined the business! Technical Director Chris, Ken’s eldest, started with KWS in 1987 and has vast experience in the print industry. Middle son, Operations Director Simon, joined straight from school in 1986. Overseeing the running of the workshop, carrying out fitting and installation he loves to get his hands dirty! The youngest Ben – Sales & Finance Director, joined in 1992, gaining a wealth of experience in all aspects of the business.
Ben White – Sales & Finance Director said: “Ken White Signs is delighted to be celebrating 50 years in business and proud to be a family-run company that has not only survived the test of time, but thrived by keeping up with the latest print and design technology. We are a forward-thinking company with traditional values, and it was important to us, therefore, to give back to the local community, which has supported us throughout the last half century.”
In 2017, Ken White Signs will be supporting the local community with FREE bespoke signage in a number of sectors:
- Devon-based charities and community groups are rushing to sign-up to a total of 50 bespoke promotional banners or signs to help promote their projects and fundraising events.
- No need for Tiverton independent retailers to shop around for their signage, as a number of outlets are being offered tailored window graphic displays.
- Tiverton primary and secondary schools have been running competitions for pupils to design a wall graphic with pictures and /or motivational message. The winning entries are judged by teachers and then converted by KWS into a graphic to be proudly displayed at each school.
- KWS is shutting down its head office for a day to offer a total of free 50 hours’ labour by its eight-man team to a designated Devon-based community or charity project.
On 14th July KWS is organising a ‘Gold Pant’ mile fun-run through Tiverton town-centre; looking to attract up to 200 participants. The event will help to raise much needed funds for CLIC Sargent, the UK’s leading cancer charity for children, young people and their families.
On 22nd September 2017, the golden celebrations will culminate in a big party for clients, suppliers, friends and family hosted at Tiverton Golf Club. The date will be 50 years to the day that Ken White won his first business contract, which was with the club. I call that a ‘hole in one’!
